VALORANT Episode 8 Act 1 will be available to everyone January 10th with a new battle pass. There are no unique custom animations and VFX for these skins but the Prism and Ego skins returning from 2020 have new color variants to make up for that and the price point. The new Act will also bring more content to the game in a brand new. The Prism/Reloaded Outlaw skin and the Ego Outlaw skin. Sunset will hit the Valorant servers along with Episode 7 Act 2 on August 29, 2023. The Outlaw also drops with a new Throwback Bundle in the VALORANT SHOP that costs 2,320 VP and includes two skins for the Outlaw with 3 variants each. The Outlaw costs 2,400 credits in matches so it’s right between its competitors the Marshal and Operator. The Outlaw will be especially formidable against players wearing Light Armor due to its high damage and two-shot mechanics. Nick Smith, Game Designer II and Sal Garozzo, Game Designer Architect, stated, “The Shorty (the sawed off shotgun sidearm in Valorant) served as a bit of an inspiration in that regard, allowing us to reimagine that paradigm in a new context with a Sniper rifle.” Depending on how many shots you’ve fired, one shot or two, the reload times will vary and are overall a bit longer than the other sniper rifles to compensate for the fire rate. The Outlaw can fire two shots in succession very quickly without zooming out. B Orb has been removed in order to bring it more in line with other maps (with Fracture being the exception with 4).The Outlaw is a brand new double-barreled sniper rifle made to fit somewhere between the Marshal and Operator sniper rifles in the roster.Increased the time it takes for rotating doors to complete their rotation 8s > 10s.The extra time should allow for more fights to happen through the doors, and most everyone to get through the door on time. 8 seconds was not enough time to use utility through the doors or fight, and make it through the doors on the same rotation. Rotating doors now take 10 seconds to fully complete their spin, up from 8 previously.Boxes have been added to C Bend along with some extra room to fight from.More room and boxes have been added in C Main to also add some defensibility closer to the front of Main.Boxes on the back of site have been adjusted.The Spike plant zone and the stairs in C Bend have been adjusted to allow for more diversity of Spike plant locations in C Site.There are currently thirteen playable maps in VALORANT. More room and boxes have been added to B Site to add some defensibility closer to the choke on site. The Lotus map update brings meaningful changes to the A site, B site, and C sites simultaneously. A cubby has also been added to the back of A Hut for more defender options to hold the site.
